The child, safe but confined behind glass,
longs for the wild freedom of the bear outside.
Though the bear looks free,
she isn't,
bumping against boundaries
wherever she roams
trying
to live her life.
Will the illusion of separateness
shatter
soon enough for the pumpkin to feed them both?
